Hobbies

As a recent newlywed, I have grown an appreciation for the domestic life - I can cook a mean meal, from just about any region in the world, and still love baking pies, cookies, and cakes. I am unconventional in my love of baseball, and have been known to voice my opinions and knowledge of teams and stats, and have even kept up a blog. I do not miss a game. I am, however, intellectually a starving artist at heart. I aspire to one day write a classics-worthy novel, integrating the intricacies of English linguistics with a well-developed thematic representation of my personal philosophies. I love to read literatures of all persuasions (Aldous Huxley and Leo Tolstoy are my favorites), including everything from the typical fiction novel to philosophical treatises. I am constantly looking for objective Truth, and want to eventually develop and publish what I call the "template theory." I also have other side hobbies that I like to engage in when time permits (which isn't often) - I play the oboe and the flute, and can dabble in mallet percussion. I have been part of a choir, though I wouldn't call myself a vocalist. I also like to paint, sketch, draw, etc. I'm not a great painter, but I try. However, I am not too bad with Prismacolor color pencils. In essence, I love to teach, and I want to make a lasting positive impact on the students with which I am given the honor to interact. I am a huge supporter of contextual relevance, and I think literature and philosophy are incredible tools for understanding critical thinking and the intrinsic value of what it is to be human. Thank you for your time and consideration.
